Director’s Message

Prof. I.M.K. Fernando
Director – CODL,

I am honoured to serve as Director of CODL at this significant milestone. Each year, thousands of students aspire to join the University of Colombo, but limited capacity restricts internal enrolment. To broaden access, the University introduced external degree programmes, the BIT, and IHRA initiatives.

Established in 2015 with two external degree programmes, CODL has since grown to offer seven programmes, serving over 1,600 students. Looking ahead, we are committed to launching new degree programmes, extension courses, and workshops to meet evolving learner needs.

I extend heartfelt gratitude to past and present Vice Chancellors, Directors, and our dedicated staff, led by the SAR, for their invaluable contribution to CODL’s progress.
